Summary A specific and very sensitive dot‐immunobinding assay was developed to detect and enumerate Leptospirillum ferrooxidans in the presence of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans , one of the most common iron‐oxidizers accompanying L. ferrooxidans in mining environments.
