Summary A serine/threonine protein kinase was partially purified from Neurospora crassa . Its physical and catalytic properties were typical of casein kinase II. In vitro, the kinase phosphorylated a calpain like protease from Allomyces arbuscula with higher affinity than a mixture of caseins.
