Partial purification of sulfite oxidase from Thiobacillus neapolitanus

Sulfite oxidase was purified 172‐fold from cell extract of Thiobacillus neapolitanus (protein A). The enzymatic activity was stimulated by protein B which shows properties of cytochrome c and flavoprotein. Sulfite oxidase was inhibited 20% by the addition of AMP.
