The position of saturation of the dihydrogenated menaquinone‐8 from Halococcus morrhuae has been investigated by mass spectrometry (MS) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry ( 1 H‐NMR). The results of the present study demonstrate that the terminal isoprene (8th from the ring) is saturated, and the quinone corresponds to 2‐methyl‐3‐VIII‐dihydrooctaprenyl‐1,4‐naphthoquinone.
