Toxins A and B of Clostridium difficile were purified to homogeneity and some of their properties were examined. The toxins have similar LD 100 values in mice, share some similarities in their amino acid composition, and are both sensitive to oxidizing agents. However, they have different isoelectric points and do not show any significant peptide homology.
