The ubiquinone composition of Legionella feeleii, L. oakridgensis, L. rubrilucens, L. sainthelensi, L. wadsworthii and some environmental legionella isolates was investigated by high performance liquid chromatography. The results of the present study indicate ubiquinones are valuable criteria for the rapid identification of Legionella species and the recognition of new taxa.
