A replica of one of Thomas Tompion's 1676 clocks has been installed in the Octagon Room at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, in the space built for the original instrument – the first time for 300 years that a year‐going clock with 13‐foot pendulum and prototype “dead‐beat” escapement will occupy the original Wren space.
