Software of the type used to give 3‐D images of the human body is finding a place in astronomical research, showing complex astronomical structures clearly and from a variety of viewpoints. The AstroMed collaboration at Harvard has brought together astronomers, medical imaging specialists and software engineers to adapt medical imaging software for astronomical data.
