SUMMARY The paper gives a brief analysis of the state‐of‐the‐art registration of Eötvös corrections. It is proved essential to further enhance the efficiency of the mathematical apparatus for navigational data processing. To this end it is suggested that the abstracted white noise in the Kalman filter, the most often applied in practice, is substituted by wide‐band noise, which would make it possible to represent the real noise effect on an object in motion with higher accuracy. The paper gives the description of an algorithm developed for optimal filtering with wide‐band noise, which can be readily implemented on computers.
