Summary Exact formulae are given for computing geomagnetic time and geomagnetic noon and midnight referred to a centred dipole representation of the geomagnetic field. These formulae are extended to refer to an eccentric dipole representation. The range of the non‐uniformity of geomagnetic time is illustrated.
