Summary The theory of the development of a slope bank and of a valley side is investigated. It is assumed that the exposed part of the slope weathers off according to a non‐linear law; the debris resulting from this process either fills up the valley or else forms an apron against the slope with its proper angle of repose. Various stages of this development have been calculated by means of an electronic computer. The results obtained are shown in graphic and numerical form.
