Morphological differences between the species and the closely related species, N. sativa , are discussed and the IUCN threatened category is proposed. A distribution map of the new species and its related taxon is given. © 2004 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society , 2004, 146 , 251–255.
