Message from the General Chairs We take great pleasure to welcome you to the 2002 Symposium on Applications and the Internet (SAINT 2002) in Nara, Japan. This is the second year for SAINT. Jointly sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society and the Information Processing Society of Japan, the conference continues to be a unique event bringing together leading researchers and practitioners in all the areas of Internet technologies and applications.
