I have long been familiar with the splendid photographic images harvested by the author in years of close and intelligent clinical activity in the field of neurology, part of which we now have in this superb publication designed for the student. This is a collection of perfect photographic documents, some being stills and others successive photograms to illustrate the kinetics, accompanied by a brief comment. On the evidence supplied the student has to arrive at his diagnosis and compare it with that given at the foot of the page. It is a volume to be recommended not only to students but also to all young neurologists and others since it provides an array of disease patterns, some frequent and others not, with a concise and illuminating text. Among the many merits of this volume is its dedication to the patients who let themselves be portrayed for the benefit of others. RENATO BOERI
