Data hiding is the science and art of imperceptibly embedding some secret data, e.g., marks or messages, into a host media. The secret data are detected and extracted at a receiving end for various purposes. Data hiding has received tremendous research efforts during the past decade from both academia and industry for a diverse range of applications such as media copyright protection, content authentication, digital rights management, media system monitoring, covert communications, and so on.
