Geometric parameters of the title compound, C 19 H 22 N 4 O 4 S·4H 2 O, are in the usual ranges. Both C=N double bonds are trans configured, while only one of the C—N single bonds shows a trans configuration (with the other one being cis configured). The crystal packing is stabilized by N—H...S, N—H...O, O—H...S and O—H...O hydrogen bonds.
