Geometric parameters of the title compound, C 14 H 12 N 4 O 3 , a pyrazolopyrimidine derivative, are in the usual ranges. The dihedral angle between the pyrazolopyrimidine system and the phenyl ring is 4.64 (5)°. The non‐H atoms of the ester side chain lie in a common plane (r.m.s. deviation = 0.028 Å) and this plane is almost perpendicular [77.69 (4)°] to the central ring system.
