In the zigzag polymeric title compound, [Zn(S 2 P(OEt) 2 ) 2 (NC 5 H 4 CH) 2 CH 2 C 5 H 4 N)] n or [Zn(C 4 H 10 O 2 PS 2 ) 2 (C 12 H 12 N 2 )] n , the Zn atom adopts a distorted tetrahedral ZnN 2 S 2 geometry; the bridging di‐4‐pyridylethane molecules are each disposed about a centre of inversion.
