The molecules of the title compound, C 14 H 11 BrO 2 S, display some distorted geometrical values that may be ascribed to an H⋯Br close contact. In the crystal structure, the molecules form translation‐symmetry‐generated infinite chains by way of a C—H⋯O interaction.
