The title compound, aqua(hydrogen trioxoselenato)(trioxoselenato)yttrium(III) monohydrate, which is isostructural with its samarium(III) and neodymium(III) analogues, contains YO 8 , SeO 3 and HSeO 3 coordination polyhedra, which fuse together by corner‐ and edge‐sharing, resulting in a layered structure. A network of O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds helps to consolidate the crystal packing.
