The title compound, {(C 10 H 16 N)[Cd(SCN) 3 ]} n , contains [(C 6 H 5 CH 2 )N(CH 3 ) 3 ] + cations lying between one‐dimensional chains of stoichiometry {[Cd(SCN) 3 ] − } n . Each Cd II ion is 3 N ,3 S ‐hexacoordinated by thiocyanate ligands, in an octahedral fac arrangement. The asymmetric unit contains two cations and two anions.
