The chiral centres in the dilactone moiety of the title compound, C 13 H 14 O 5 , are in the configuration 3 S ,6 R . The ring itself has a somewhat flattened twist‐boat conformation. C—H·O interactions join the molecules into a two‐dimensional network running parallel to the (101) plane.
