Crystals of the title compound, C 6 F 5 B(OH) 2 , were obtained from an attempted recrystallization of (C 6 F 5 ) 3 B 3 O 3 ·Et 3 PO from THF/hexane solution. The central B atom of the boronic acid has a trigonal planar configuration with two hydroxyl groups and one pentafluorphenyl substituent.
