The title tin complex crystallizes as a stoichiometric toluene‐solvated dimer of 1,1,3,3‐tetrabenzyl‐1‐chloro‐3‐hydroxydistannoxane, [Sn 4 (C 7 H 7 ) 8 Cl 2 O 2 (OH) 2 ]·2C 7 H 8 . The tetranuclear molecule lies across a centre of inversion in space group P 2 1 / n ; the Sn 4 O 4 framework, in which the two independent Sn centres both have distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination, is essentially planar.
