The molecules of the title compound, C 8 H 7 N 3 O 3 , which are nearly planar, are linked by an N—H⋯O hydrogen bond into helical chains, three of which are required to define the structure completely. These triply intertwined helices are linked by a C—H⋯O hydrogen bond into a three‐dimensional framework enclosing two distinct types of channel, with average cross‐sectional areas of 15.0 and 8.2 Å 2 .
