The structure of Tl 2 (SeO 3 ) 3 [dithallium(III) triselenium(IV) nonaoxide] is monoclinic ( P 2 1 / n symmetry), with all atoms in general positions. It is built up from TlO 6 octahedra, distorted TlO 7 pentagonal bipyramids and (SeO 3 ) 2− pyramids sharing vertices and edges to form corrugated (001) layers. The Se lone pairs of electrons are accommodated in the interlayer regions.
