Itis unclear whether this relaxation involves defects and/or in-teraction with external species, or is due to the relaxation ofphotoexcitations into intrinsic dark excited states. These observations are stimulating various studies ofSWNTs via transient optical spectroscopies using one colorand two color pump-probe experiments on surfactant suspen-sions of SWNTs.
