A calculation of the energy width of spin waves whose energy is small compared to kT in a Heisenberg ferromagnet is presented. Full account is taken of all two-particle processes. For 2JS/kT≫1 and 2JSa2λ2/kT≪1, the energy width Δωλ of a spin wave of wave number λ is Δωλ~λ4T2[A+Bln(kT/2JSa2λ2)+Cln2(kT/2JSa2λ2)]. The disagreement with some previous treatments is explained physically by their neglect of two many-body effects.
