The meeting was held in conjunction with the meeting of the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) (9–13 July 2017). The plenary meeting with delegates comprised three formal sessions that were alternated with informal workshops on issues related to ICSP activities and with two presentations, one by Aharon Oren on the International Code of Nomenclature of Prokaryotes and one by Ramon Rosselló-Móra on the Digital Protologue.
