Note on a new transition produced by electron impact in helium

During some experiments in this laboratory on electron impacts in helium, it was observed that in addition to electrons which had made the most probable transition impact (11 S0 — 21 P1 ) there were a few which showed a loss indicating 2 (11 S0 — 21 P1 ) and others showing a loss approximately equal to 3 (11 S0 — 21 P1 ). The present note is concerned with this last mentioned loss.
