1.Object and Method of the Experiments . In a former paper an account was given of the way in which the photoelectric activity of zinc diminishes when the metal is exposed to light from a Nernst lamp. It was shown that the photo-electric activity at a timet from the commencement of an experiment could be expressed by the formula I = K1 e -λ1 t + K2 e -λ2 t . In a typical experiment with a polished zinc plate the first exponential term fell to half value in 4.9 minutes, the second in 94 minutes, the constants of change being λ1 = 0.141 and λ2 = 0.00737; K1 and K2 were of the same order of magnitude.
