In measures of the radial velocity ofα Boötis andβ Geminorum, the results for the calcium line atλ 4435·851 (Rowland) are discordant. In both stars, in measures made independently by Mr. Goatcher and the author, the value for this line is too low (positive). The following are the figures:— For this line a shift of λ 1·0 = 67·60 kiloms. per second. The Ca line, therefore, appears to be 0·049λ to the violet side of its tabular position.
