On Women's Health

In many parts of the world, physical therapists have long been active in addressing the unique health needs of women. Ironically, this has not always been true in the United States, despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of therapists have been women. Changes are taking place, and they are long overdue.Like the members of many other health care disciplines, physical therapists tended to assume that whatever problems women had did not warrant study, specially prepared practitioners, or even generalists with special training.
