Although she is a trained nurse, she found herself unprepared for the task of carin? for her husband when he returned home seriously handicapped, and enquiries led her to believe that many other devoted relatives were trying, like her, to cope with 3 herculean task without any help or guidance. She decided to give others the benefi' of her experience by writing a textbook for the patient's family. This book is a remarkable account of the many problems with which the author was faced. The patient's physical and emotional adaptation to a life as a disable" person is fully discussed, nursing care is described in detail and much practical advice is given on rehabilitation. The author's own personal involvement comes through wen> in the sensitive manner in which the patient's problems are described.
