379 The Canadian Paediatric Surveillance Program (CPSP) is an active paediatric surveillance network providing data on conditions that, despite their low frequency, have high morbidity, disability and mortality, and place heavy emotional and financial burdens on families of affected children. In 2003, the CPSP underwent a formal evaluation to assess whether it fulfilled its objectives and satisfied the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) surveillance evaluation criteria (1). The present article will provide a review of the CPSP, present the evaluation process and current results, and look at future challenges.
