Drug use, hazardous alcohol use, and mental health disorders are prevalent among people with HIV and HCV infection. Co-occurrence of alcohol use and depression negatively impacts substance use patterns. Nevertheless, HCV treatment provides a promising opportunity to identify and address co-occurring drug use, hazardous alcohol use, and mental health disorders.
