Multivalent mannosides were synthesized for attachment to oligoribonucleotides via 3,4-diethoxy-3-cyclobutene-1,2-dione (squarate). The conjugates have potential to be used in receptor-mediated endocytosis of small interference RNAs into dendritic cells through interactions with mannose-binding lectins.
