Source/Description: We recently found a new polymorphism in the CYP1A1 gene by PCR direct sequencing (1) which results in amino acid substitution of De for Val at residue 462 in the heme binding region of the P450IA1 protein. This polymorphism asociates with Mspl polymorphism (2, 3) in the 3'-flanking region, and the linkage disequilibrium is calculated to be 0.158 (1). Here we report the PCR detection method and the frequency of this A/G polymorphism.
