Other Comments: PCR was carried out in a volume of 50 /tl containing 50 ng genomic DNA, 50 pmol of each set of primers (A and B), 250 /tM of each dNTP's, 50 mM KC1, 10 mM TrisHC1 pH 8.3, 2.0 mM MgCl2, 0.2 mg/ml nuclease free BSA, 1 unit Taq polymerase (Cetus AmpliTaq). The amplification consisted of 27 cycles of 0.5 min at 95°C, 0.7 min at 55°C and 0.7 min at 72°C. Allelic fragments were resolved on either 3% agarose gels or on a 6% acrylamide gel with or without 10% glycerol as described (3) and stained with ethidium bromide.
