A genomic clone encoding the pathogenesis-related (PR) lb protein was cloned from Nicotiana tabacum cv. Samsun NN genomic library screening with cDNA clone of PRla protein gene (1). The following nucleotide sequence contains coding and its flanking regions. The nucleotide sequence of PRlb protein gene is highly similar to that of PRla (2-5). Coding region is from 457 to 963 without intron and capping site is identified at 428. TATA-box is underlined. EMBL accession no. Xl 7680
