The objectives of this study were to characterize renal accumulation of arbekacin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic for treatment of infections with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and to modulate renal uptake of arbekacin, leading to prevention of arbekacin-induced nephrotoxicity.
