in the evolution of cancer cells during tumorigenesis, and suggest ways of controlling these processes through the manipulation of these shared, evolved mechanisms. As V&B have shown, thinking about cancer from an evolutionary point of view is rewarding and may offer new interpretations of epidemiological data.
