This article criticizes an article that concentrates on the biological outcomes of full-term pregnancies among teenagers. Gabriel Scally points out that the authors failed to deal with more important issues like the educational and social effects of early motherhood. Scally also defends Tony Blairs foreword in the Social Exclusion Units Teenage Pregnancy report which was misconstrued by Lawlor and Shaw.
