Successful management of post-resection bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is a challenge, and various loco-regional flaps have been used to directly cover or to enhance closure of the bronchial stump. The serratus anterior muscle (SAM) is one of the workhorse flaps, although its use as a musculocutaneous flap has been debated. Here, we present our early experience with serratus anterior musculocutaneous (SAMC) flaps for the obliteration of BPF.
