Treatments were replicated five times on single tree plots in three tests. An unsprayed buffer tree separated treatment trees within and between rows. Sprays were applied dilute with a hand-gun at 400 lb/in2 (ca. 10 gal per tree) for tests 1 and 2 on 27 May and 1 June and 425 lb/in2 (ca. 12 gal per tree) for test 3 on 19 July using a truck-mounted sprayer. Water pH was 6.9 in tests 1 and 2 and 6.5 in test 3. Twenty fruit were examined at random around the canopy of each sample tree at various times before and after spraying. A 1-cm2 area was examined on each of two shaded sides per fruit. The combined 2-cm2 count per fruit of living motile CRM was recorded as one observation.
