Fifty willow oaks, approximately 20ft high and uniformly infested were selected for treatment. Insecticides were applied to the crawler stage 15 Jun. and 18 Jun., in Norfolk and Portsmouth respectively using a skid-mounted hydraulic sprayer at 80 lb/in2. Temperature was 72° at both application times. Treatments were evaluated in May 1983 by counting the number of females on four branches per tree, 5 trees per treatment.
