Each treatment consisted of from three to five 50-ft swaths supplied by a Pawnee PA-25 (Hutchinson Wing) aircraft. All treatments were at 28 lb/in2 through 23 Hollowcore 4-45 cone nozzles. Volume was 1 gal/acre. Larvae in the ears of 10 groups of 10 plants were counted. Applications were made 1 Aug. and evaluated 16 Aug. Pest pressure was high, with 1.8 larvae per plant in the check.
