Green pepper plants were transplanted 1 June at the Univ. of Massachusetts Res. Farm, Sunderland, Mass. Each plot was two rows, 18 ft long with 18 in between plants and 3 ft between rows. Fertilizer (1000 lb 10:10:10/acre) was incorporated prior to planting. The insecticides were applied on 2, 10, 18, and 24 Aug., with a CO2 pressurized sprayer at ca 60 gal/acre and 40 lb/in2 European corn borer control was assessed by harvesting 25 commercial size peppers from each plot on 9 Sept., and examining them for injury.
