Five insecticides were applied to selected woody ornamental nursery crops to evaluate potential phytotoxicity. Experiments were conducted between Apr and Jul at the University of New Hampshire Horticultural Farm in Durham, NH. The ornamentals had been planted in rows and were sprayed at 0.5, IX (recommended rate), 2X and 4X using a CO2 compression sprayer at 40 psi. Each experimental rate was applied to 4 single plant replicates, to the point of runoff, in a randomized block design. The ornamentals were examined 9 and 10 days after application.
