Scale control was evaluated in a commercial nursery in Exmore, VA by selecting infested Japanese hollies ca 3 ft tall. Insecticides were applied on May 26 using a 1 gal B & G compressed air sprayer at 30 psi, and were applied to runoff. On Jun 10, 5 cuttings were removed from each treatment and the number of crawlers per 10 leaves counted. Temperature at time of treatment was 69°F and 2.06 in of rain occurred between application and evaluation.
